Privacy Policy
The short version
generosomm.dev is the personal portfolio of Merwin Generoso. It has no user accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies, and it never sells anything about its visitors. It counts visits without storing who you are, and if you leave a note, it keeps what you wrote so it can be shown once I approve it.
Data about visitors
- No cookies or advertising trackers. The site sets no cookies and loads no advertising scripts.
- Visit counter. The number of visits in the footer is counted once per visitor per day. To tell visitors apart without storing who they are, the server turns your IP address and browser type into a one-way code, mixed with a random value that changes every day. Your IP address itself is never stored, the code can't be turned back into it, and the codes are deleted after two days. Only the daily totals are kept.
- Visitor statistics. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to show me aggregate numbers (page views, countries, referring sites, device types). It uses no cookies and doesn't identify individual visitors.
- Browser storage. The site saves the date it last counted your visit in your browser's local storage, so it doesn't ask the server again the same day. It stays on your device, and you can clear it any time with your browser's site data.
- Server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's servers briefly record standard request details (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. I don't use these logs to identify visitors. See Vercel's privacy policy.
- Contact form. When you submit a project brief, your name, email address, selected service, optional deadline and message are sent through Web3Forms to my inbox. I use these details to respond to your inquiry. See Web3Forms' privacy policy. The separate email links still open your email application.
Visitor notes
- What is stored: the name, the optional "who you are" and the note you write, plus the time you sent it. No email address is asked for or stored.
- Who sees it: nobody but me until I approve it. Approved notes are shown publicly on this site with your name, "who you are" and the date. I may decline any note without saying why.
- Spam protection: to limit how many notes one person can send per day, the same daily, one-way code as the visit counter is kept for two days. It is not linked to your note.
- Changing your mind: email me and I'll remove your note.
Connected social accounts
The site shows live statistics from my own TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook accounts. To do this, I connected those accounts to the site once, using each platform's official login and API:
- What is read: public profile details (display name, handle, profile picture), aggregate counts (followers, likes, posts, views) and my public posts' titles, thumbnails, links and view counts.
- Where it is stored: the access tokens the platforms issue are kept in a private database that only the site's server code can read. They are never sent to your browser. The site keeps the latest stats and one daily total per platform for trend charts.
- Who it is about: only my own accounts. The site does not read, store or show information about anyone else, including people who follow or comment on my posts. Visitors cannot log in to the site with any social account.
- How to stop it: I can disconnect any account at any time from that platform's settings, which immediately revokes the site's access.
Use of these platforms' data follows their own terms, including the TikTok Terms of Service, the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy, and the Meta Platform Terms.
Changes and contact
